We collect information you provide directly when creating accounts, posting job listings, or submitting applications through Musala. This includes personal identification details, account credentials, resume/CV files, cover letters, and application metadata.

2. Data Retention & Automated Deletion Policy

At Musala, we are committed to protecting candidate privacy and ensuring that personal data is not stored indefinitely. We utilize automated systems to regularly scrub and permanently delete candidate records according to the following retention frameworks:

Annual Hard Purge (Maximum Retention Limit): As an absolute safeguard, our automated daily system runs a comprehensive check to identify any application data older than 365 days (1 year). Any candidate profile, application history, and associated documents reaching this threshold are permanently wiped.
Employer Custom Retention (Push Method): Individual hiring companies can set custom data retention preferences specifying a designated number of days to retain applications after submission. Once exceeded, the system automatically triggers cleanup.
Post-Closure Retention (Pull Method): For companies managing applications relative to a job listing's lifecycle, the platform tracks when a position closes. After a default safety window (typically 60 days post-closure, or as configured by the company), applications tied to that listing are automatically purged.

3. Full-Stack Data Shredding (Database & Cloud Storage)

When an application is flagged for deletion by any of our automated cleanup schedules, the system executes a complete scrub. This process simultaneously deletes text records from our database and permanently shreds attached files (such as CVs and cover letters) from our secure AWS S3 cloud storage buckets, ensuring no residual copies remain.
